In episode 3, Lake Speed Jr takes us to Odon, Indiana to see Jeremy Wagler of Wagler Competition Products, to talk about improving on stock engine design.
Using the Cummins Diesel from 2019 and later as an example, Wagler shows us how engineering changes at the factory (in this case swapping a flat tappet for a roller cam on the camshaft) can affect the entire engine’s reliability and performance.
Diving into the details, Wagler gives us a close up look at the problems he found with the stock components and how he went about designing and producing new lifter kits and push rods to restore the engines’ performance.
