In episode 30 Lake Speed Jr and Ben Strader head back to EFI University to talk about combustion analysis and show why their LS isn’t one eight-cylinder engine, it’s eight one-cylinder engines.
To demonstrate what they’re talking about, Ben inserts high compression sensors into each cylinder to show how different each cylinder is – up to a 10% spread at a consistent RPM – and how they were able to optimize air and fuel delivery for each to gain 39 ft-lb of torque on a naturally aspirated engine.
